Most flat prints can be folded in a manner of ways to meet your requirements. During the online order process you will have the opportunity to select from the standard folding options below. If you need something a little different, please contact us for a quote.
Folding charges are calculated by adding the base set-up fee for the type of fold required PLUS the per-copy price for the number of flyers to be folded.
E.g. 2,000 flyers folded in half (half fold): Set-up: ¥1,500 + 2,000 copies @ ¥1/copy = ¥3,500
For paper over 135kg in weight we are unable to fold using machines as the paper surface will tear. Alternatively we can press a line (a score or crease) into the paper to make it easy to fold by hand. This is commonly done to folded shop cards and other similar items. The score makes for a good clean fold.
We are able to press up to 2 score lines in one run through the machine but if the distance between the scores is less than 50mm, the data is larger than A3, or 3 or more scores are required there may be additional fees required and the turnaround may need to be adjusted. Once we check your data we will inform you if this applies to you.
Please add extra crop marks and/or guidelines to your data, indicating the position of the score lines.
The smallest size we are able to score is double business card size (55mm × 182mm or 110mm × 91mm)
Note: the side of the paper that receives the score line will form the outside of the product once folded.
No. score lines | Set-up fee | Price per copy |
---|---|---|
1 score | ¥1,500 | ¥1 |
2 scores | ¥2,000 | ¥1 |
When you would like to reduce the tearing along the edge of your folded brochures, we can apply this [score+fold] finish. Good for brochures on 110kg (matt-coat or uncoated) and 135kg (coat, matt-coat or uncoated).
Please add extra crop marks and/or guidelines to your data, indicating the position of the score lines.
For Half fold brochures, the minimum height starts at 110mm, width 91mm. For trifold/z-fold brochures the minimum height starts at 148mm, width 91mm. The width of the panels need to be at least 97mm. Will add 2 working days to your print turnaround.

It is also known as hot stamping, since high temperatures are applied to the foil to create the necessary adhesion. At Mojoprint, we offer gold (shiny or matte) or silver (shiny or matte) as standard. Black, metallic red, metallic blue, metallic green, metallic pink, metallic sky blue, or holographic foils (perfect for security foiling tickets) are also available with a custom quote.

Preparing data for foil stamping
- We only accept Adobe Illustrator path data for areas to be foil stamped
- Please create the foiled area as a separate illustrator file, filled with 100% K and aligned exactly to the separate CMYK file with registration marks.
- If possible, include a mock-up of your design as you hope it to look post-foiling
- Please prepare your data with bleed surrounding the area to be foiled, to counter slight differences in foil positioning.
Die storage: For an additional ¥1,000, we can save your die to be used again. Die's will be stored for up to one year. After several uses, or prolonged storage however the die may not be suitable to use again and may have to be remade regardless.
Embossing is the process of pressing a metal or silicone die-cut shape into a surface from behind, to create a relief. This is usually applied to logos or text to create a raised, slightly 3-d effect. It is similar to blind letterpress. Cutting out custom shapes from printed materials is known as die-cutting. With a die-cut, you can create any kind of weird or wonderful shaped flyers or postcards imaginable. The Thomson die-cut press is the most common tool for this task, so in Japan die-cutting is also referred to as Tomson. The process involves creating a custom die from laser-cut board and sharp metal and then using it, cookie-cutter-like, to press the desired shape from the prints. Creating the die/cutter shape can take at least 4 working days, so please allow plenty of time for the process if you are planning to use die-cuts in your designs.

Preparing data for die-cutting
- Only Adobe Illustrator data can be accepted for the die-cut shape
- Die-cuts are only possible on stocks of 135kg weight or greater.
- Please create the die-cut shape as a separate illustrator file, filled with 100% K and aligned exactly to the separate CMYK file with registration marks.
- Die-cut shapes leave a tiny bridge between the stock and the die-cut shape - much like the fine knob of plastic that remains when you remove parts from a plastic modeling kit. For die-cuts where a shape is cut-out of a base, both the base and shape will be delivered still connected.
- You are advised to create a mock-up up of your die-cut to make sure it assembles as you expect. We do not carry out checks post-production.
- Depending on size the die-cut may be off-centre by 1-3mm.
- In certain cases, your desired shape may not be possible, or may require additional turnaround or expense.
Die storage: For an additional ¥1,000, we can save your die to be used again. Die's will be stored for up to one year. After several uses, or prolonged storage however the die may not be suitable to use again and may have to be remade regardless.
We can automatically number your prints by machine, perfect for numbering tickets for large events. The font and size is pre-set however and cannot be customised.

- When two positions are to be numbered, there must be at least 11-15mm between the two areas, depending on their juxtaposition.
