Each month our staff will keep an eye out for flyers and postcards they think are well designed, then at the end of the month, vote to decide which design takes the top honors and post the winning design here.
The winning design will be posted on our website here, along with the designers contact information, and sent out as part of our monthly newsletter to hundreds of people nation-wide. The winner will also receive a prize - their choice of either a 3000yen Mojoprint printing e-voucher* or an original Mojoprint t-shirt.** Winner will also receive a winners badge for their website.
This months award goes to this great looking flyer for what is apparently Japan’s first Glitch Hop party — Made in Glitch.
The bold use of typography and clean palette of sky blues and sunny yellows was an instant hit around the office. The juxtaposition of cut-out photographic figures and vector forms is very much a ‘now’ look, but the designer here has really pulled it off to good effect. (more…)
This months award goes to so+ba design for their retro cool URBAN RESEARCH/Freitag flyers, commemorating 15 years of Freitag and 10 years for the Ginza Urban Research store.
Using bitmap images of what appear to be flight attendants (or are they police officers…postal workers?) carrying trays of diagrams of Freitag products and surrounded by other groovy vector goodness, these black and white flyers are certainly unlike any you have seen before. This months award goes to the team at UltraSuperNew for their excellent 42 Below Vodka promotional flyer. This flyer is just one small part of their creative, tongue-in-cheek advertising for this popular New Zealand vodka.
The strong use of yellow and simple, almost hand-drawn line-work complements the off-the-wall imagery (is that a policeman’s hat?). Bold, contemporary and very cool. Good stuff. Look out for other 42 Below promotional items in bars near you! (more…)
The inaugural winner of our new We Love Design Award is this great looking flyer from the Red Box team.
Their quirky, video-game-meets-manga inspired montage, combined with smart typography really jumped out at us. And did we mention it is square? Always good to go for an unusual shape when trying to stand out from the crowd we say. (more…)
