Color settings and color workflow

When designing for print, you are faced with the fundamental problem of viewing CMYK documents on RGB monitors. Calibrating your monitor correctly and creating a good color workflow are ways to ensure that what you see on screen is what you get back from the printing press are the same.

Mojoprint uses the Japan Color 2001 CMYK model. To emulate how colors will look when using this model, you can set up your application color settings to use this model. Create a custom color settings file and use it across all your applications to ensure color consistency.

Create a custom color settings file

In Photoshop select [Photoshop][Color Settings] to open the dialog window. In your working spaces choose Adobe RGB for the RGB model and Japan Color 2001 Coated for the CMYK model. Save the configuration as “Print work settings” for example and then in Illustrator or InDesign etc. select the same custom settings file by loading it into the available settings menu.
